The visit coincided with the beginning of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eid_Mubarak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Eid Mubarak\">Eid Mubarak<\/a>. Supporting a Young Girl with a Tumour<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_15 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_3_5 et_flex_column_3_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_13 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><ul>\n<li>Also supported a young girl who had a tumour causing her to go blind in one eye.<\/li>\n<li>She had just turned 18 and was very passionate about going to university and continuing her studies.<\/li>\n<li>Despite the pain she is in, she still holds hopes for the future.<\/li>\n<li>As a small gesture to help her reach that goal, we purchased a tablet for her.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_10 et_pb_row et_flex_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_16 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_2_5 et_flex_column_2_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_14 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>7. Deeper Access &amp; Evident Trauma<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_17 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_3_5 et_flex_column_3_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_15 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><ul>\n<li>Because the children and families already knew the team from previous visits, the level of trust was significantly higher.<\/li>\n<li>This trip, I was given access to many more families, and as a result, the depth of trauma was more visible than before.<\/li>\n<li>Noted more profound trauma amongst the children. However, despite the horrors they have endured and continue to endure, they remain the most resilient, loving, and affectionate children.<\/li>\n<li>They live in profound uncertainty: separated from their families, knowing their homes have been destroyed, and aware that their education and medical facilities no longer exist for them when they return to in Gaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_11 et_pb_row et_flex_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_18 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_2_5 et_flex_column_2_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_16 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>8. This was difficult during Eid and holidays.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Event dates:\u00a0<\/strong>Saturday and Sunday, March 28\u201329.<\/li>\n<li>Over 500 children and their families from three different accommodation sites attended.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday was a school day for some, but children attending Christian schools were able to join, along with elders.<\/li>\n<li>After the park, children were taken for a meal at a nearby restaurant, followed by singing, dancing, and a dabke performance.<\/li>\n<li>Hired multiple buses for transport; coordinated with a local volunteer group in Amman who assisted with logistics and ensured needs were met on both days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_13 et_pb_row et_flex_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_22 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_2_5 et_flex_column_2_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_20 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>10. Visits to Other Accommodation Centres<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_23 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_3_5 et_flex_column_3_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_21 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><ul>\n<li>Visited two other centres during the following week.<\/li>\n<li>Met children previously supported, as well as others who had been returned to Jordan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shocking finding:\u00a0<\/strong>One centre has many children with hearing and eye problems. Some children had been returned twice at the border because Israeli authorities would not allow them to pass with their hearing implants \u2013 despite coming to Jordan specifically for that treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Hearing issues are likely linked to ongoing exposure to drones, bombs, and war-related noise in Gaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_14 et_pb_row et_flex_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_24 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_2_5 et_flex_column_2_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_22 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>11. After receiving a tablet for art, crafts, and communication with friends in Gaza, she got up and took several steps \u2013 something she had not done in a long time.<\/li>\n<li>She also attended the amusement park and said she had not felt that happy in a very long time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_15 et_pb_row et_flex_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_26 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_2_5 et_flex_column_2_5_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_24 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>12. The trauma is profound, yet so is their resilience, love, and affection. Despite losing family members, their homes, education, healthcare, and often family contact, these children continue to show joy and hope. The small gestures of providing tablets and essential items are making a meaningful difference \u2013 enabling communication with Gaza, supporting educational aspirations, and offering moments of happiness. The team successfully delivered recreational activities, essential items, and individual support. The next phase will build on the partnerships established and continue addressing psychosocial needs with a deepened understanding of the long-term support required.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph
