Hope and Resilience Projects:
Play, Care & Hope for Gaza’s Evacuated Children in Jordan
November 16th - 28th, 2025
Thank you for your continued compassion and support. Over the course of 13 days in Amman, our team engaged with over 175 evacuated families from Gaza, many of them children suffering from cancer, terminal illnesses, or severe trauma. Below is a summary of what your generosity helped achieve, and why our work must continue.
What We Accomplished Together
1. Play Therapy & Emotional Support
- Conducted structured play therapy sessions for 40+ children at a time, using art, sensory toys, board games, and sports to foster emotional healing.
- Engaged children at four emergency accommodations:
- Distributed therapy toys, art supplies, sports equipment, and sweets to bring moments of joy and normality.
2. Individualised Care for Terminally Ill Children
- Visited bedridden and terminal patients regularly, providing tailored support and essential items:
- Tablets and phones to connect with family in Gaza.
- Sensory toys for children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Specialised devices for visually impaired children.
- Food blenders, play mats, baby formula, nappies, and other urgent needs.
- Purchased a keyboard, games console, and other comfort itemsfor teens undergoing chemotherapy and facing amputations.
3. Outdoor Activities & Community Building
- Organised football, tennis, and Irish sports outingsfor 60+ children (boys and girls on separate days).
- Rented buses and distributed donated sports jerseys, creating safe spaces for play and laughter.
- Booked Luna Amusement Parkfor two days, serving 520+ children and caregivers, including ensuring wheelchair accessibility for a 14-year-old boy.
4. Emergency Support & Partnerships
- Assisted FAJR Global with the evacuation of 15 children and caregivers from Gaza to Jordan.
- Provided 254 clothing vouchers(15 JD each) to families across all locations.
- Built trusted relationships with community leaders, hotels, and NGOs to coordinate ongoing care.
The Harsh Reality: Why This Work Must Continue
On December 3rd, we received an urgent update: Several families were returned to Gaza without notice, many stripped of belongings, and left without food, shelter, water, or medication. This heart-breaking turn of events underscores the fragility and urgency of our mission. The children we met are not only facing illness and displacement, they are living in constant uncertainty.
Our Long-Term Vision
Once we have raised sufficient funds we are committed to a sustained a long-term ongoing presence in Amman to provide:
- Weekly play therapy sessions for evacuated children.
- Continuous material and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their caregivers.
- Regular outings and activities to combat trauma and isolation.
- Emergency readiness to support new arrivals and prevent crisis.
