Volunteer | Winter Camp 2027

Location: Amman, Jordan

We will be visiting Amman, Jordan again in January 2027 and we are looking for volunteers to join us.

Full details are yet to be decided upon. We will update this page as soon as we have a clear itinerary for the Winter Camp.

Why we need you

During our previous missions parents and guardians shared overwhelming feelings of exhaustion, grief, and a deep need for respite support. Caregiver burnout is real. By volunteering with us, you will directly help lighten that load – giving children a safe, fun summer and giving parents a much needed break.

Volunteer requirements, fundraising & safeguarding

All International Volunteers Must:

  1. Undergo a thorough vetting process – provide CV, reference verification, and police certificate.
  2. Complete mandatory online training (trauma informed & culturally appropriate) before arrival.
  3. Participate in on-site cultural and programme orientation in Amman.
  4. Adhere to child protection and ethical conduct policies at all times.
  5. Fundraise for this mission – each volunteer will be asked to raise funds to help finance the project and weekly play therapy/psychosocial sessions.

*Please Note:

  • Volunteers book their own flights.
  • Neart Nūr will support and advise on accommodation and travel insurance.
  • Any surplus funds (after personal expenses reimbursement) go directly to running the project, including trips to amusement parks, stadiums, and forest parks.

Fundraising Commitment:

A fundraising commitment of €2,000 is a core condition for reserving your place on the Winter Camp. This commitment ensures that every volunteer contributes directly to the sustainability of the program — helping us continue delivering meaningful impact in the communities we serve.

Travel & Accommodation:

Each volunteer is responsible for their own air travel and accommodation expenses. However, if you raise more than your program donation target of €2,000, any surplus funds can be used to reimburse these costs — meaning successful fundraising can help offset your personal expenses.

What Your Fundraising Supports:

All funds raised go directly toward offsetting program expenses, including training, travel, and on-the-ground project costs in the host country.

Support Provided:

You won't be fundraising alone. We provide full fundraising guidance and proven strategies to help you reach your target with confidence.

Our approach

We use culturally sensitive, trauma informed play therapy and psychosocial support for displaced children, medical evacuees, and their caregivers.

  • Safe Space Play Hubs: Mobile and fixed environments where children engage in expressive, non directive play therapy facilitated. These are oases of safety, predictability, and joy.
  • Caregiver Support & Empowerment Circles: Recognising that a supported caregiver is a child’s greatest resource, we provide group sessions and skill building workshops for parents and guardians – focusing on their own psychosocial well being and nurturing techniques.

We create safe spaces for healing, empower individuals and communities through participatory programmes, and nurture the inner strength that guides recovery.
